Opaline Gourami can be found in Southeastern Asia in countries such as China, Cambodia, Malaysia, Thailand, Singapore, India, and the Philippines. Within these regions, the Opaline Gourami inhabits wetland areas such as swamps, canals, slow-flowing streams, and standing water. This fish is unique because they possess a labyrinth organ. This means that the Opaline Gourami is can breathe from their mouth and take in air from the surface of the water as needed.
